Aristotle said “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.”
Shaun Wane, England Rugby League Coach talks about “the things you do in the dark, unrecognised make the difference.”
Excellence is therefore about the habits you build and keep, when only you will know if you’ve really paid the price, when no-one else was looking and you could have taken it easy.
It’s difficult to always be on your ‘A’ game, so what is it you’re connected to, that’s so important to you you’ll do the work, keep the habits and pay the price?
If it seems harder for you to keep those habits, when was the last time you reviewed what excellence means for you?
Perhaps what was excellent isn’t anymore ?
